Verse of the week

2 Timothy 3:14-16
But as for you continue in what you have learned and become convinced of, because you know those from whom you learned it.

And how from infancy you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus.

All scripture is God breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness.

Sing it

You'll never forget it! Isn't that the truth!
Kebrom Atsede and JoyLynn were watching some shows that I haven't seen for several years and they were listening to the theme songs and suddenly I realized that I was singing also! We had dance class, they music went on and all of sudden my feet had a mind of there own. I was doing the dance that I hadn't done for a LONG time!
Some thing's will be locked in my brain forever.

Music is something that feeds my soul. Especially when the song is about cheeseburgers. ;) But seriously, it is not the rare to hear a song that the lyrics relate to how I sometimes feel.
What is really fun is when my Dad will play a new song, and the lyrics just come to me. I never heard the song in my life, but the words will just force there way right out of my mouth.

Here are the lyrics to one of my favorite songs.

This time I finally see the reason why
I can't do this alone
It took some time and concentration
To believe it, this I know.
I need to build my faith sometimes
But I am so comfortable in line
I'm up there's no more time,
To try to mess with this design

Two nights compete everyone's asleep
and I don't want to say these words to you
I'll be your hand take me as I am
I just wanna be with you

Take me as I am cause I'm going
I was too scared to start now
I'm too scared to let go
Take me as I am, cause I'm growing
but its so hard to tell when I'm not used to this soul
Take me as I am, cause I'm going
I was too scared to start now I'm too scared to let go
Take me as I am, Cause I'm growing
but its so hard to tell when I'm not used to this soul

I lift my voice to sing out
Let the sound of my heart bring out
These hands aren't holding me down
Never again will I be with out
I need to feel my faith sometimes
But I am so comfortable in line
I'm up there's no more time
To try to mess with this design

Two nights compete everyone's asleep
and I don't want to say these words to you
I'll be your hand take me as I am
I just wanna be with you

Take me as I am, cause I'm going
I was too scared to start now
I'm too scared to let go
Take me as I am, cause I'm growing
but its so hard to tell when
I'm not used to this soul
Take me as I am, cause I'm going
I was too scared to start now I'm too scared to let go
Take me as I am, cause I'm growing
But its so hard to tell when I'm not used to this soul

Verse of the Week

Can you believe it? I forgot the verse of the week! So here is the mid-week verse of the week. (-:
John 3:16
For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only son that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life.
In Sunday school that is one of the first verses that you learn. Every believer knows that one. But you always need the reminder.
I heard a sermon about Jesus' crucifixion and how much sacrifices He made. At first I was all like, I don't need to listen. I have heard that story millions of times. But this pastor preached it differently. All of a sudden, I realized that I didn't know the full story. I thought I did, until I head this pastor. I came to a whole new realization about my belief. I heard the story, but I never really heard it. Yes, I had Jesus in my heart. I prayed to Him, He answered my prayers, but all of a sudden I heard this story in a completely different light.
I am so happy and thankful that God sent Jesus to die on the cross for my sins.
I would like to encourage you to go and read the crucifixion story again. I am almost positive that you will discover something new.

It's official.

Summer is over. At least in my book it is.
We went down to the river and JoyLynn, Atsede and I were running through the water along the bank as fast as we could. We got really wet, but it was fun. NOW summer can be over.

And now I cant wait for it to get cold. I love getting out of bed in the morning and putting on my bath robe and slippers as fast as I can and then running to the kitchen for a nice hot cup of hot chocolate. Or coffee. (;
I love cuddling up by the fire and reading or watching a chick flick with my Mom and sis. I love everything about it being cold! To me, there is no downside. Okay, maybe one. When we have to get into the freezing cold car in the morning for church or after one of the basketball games. Otherwise, who could hate it?
Waking up in the morning to look out your window and see a blanket of snow, wearing pretty sweaters and cute shoes. I LOVE IT!

It also doesn't hurt that my birthday is in the fall, or that Christmas is in the winter. That doesn't damper it at all that's for sure.

Summer, Winter, Spring or Fall. I love them all. But the best is Winter with the holidays when we can rest.
Hey, I am a poet and I didn't know it!

Animals

We have lots of animals. They are all stupid, but yet smart and cute and funny. That's it in a pea pod.
First off we have Samson. Stupid, smart, cute and he makes us laugh. Dad isn't too fond of him though.
That's Mom with Samson and the 2 cats Merry and Pippin. Merry is the one in between her legs. And he is the boy. At the top.
Books is on the bottom. He is not that fuzzy now. But he is still cute!
Now, Melody and he baby Prince.

They are my llamas. Prince is just a baby but he will probably be bigger than Melody.

That is all for now!

Family

I love my family. I get annoyed at my family. I get embarrassed by my family. I get mad at my family. I cant live with out my family. I think about Kebrom and Atsede. Abandoned by there own family. The mom may of had no choice but can you even imagine how hard that must of been for her? To give up 2 of her own children? It hurts my heart. My life would be terrible with out my family to share it with.
My grandparents, all 4 of them. They all encourage me in there own way, they pray for me and they are with my every step of the way. My aunts. I read something that said only aunts can give hugs like a mother, keep secrets like a sister, and play like a friend. I read that and I thought, that describes my aunts! They all love me and I need my aunts to help me when my Mom is occupied. My uncles. They are all so much fun. They laugh with me, and sometimes at me. But not in a mean way. My cousins. My cousins are like my many best friends. Each one of my cousins hold a special place in my heart. Sisters? Oh where do I begin. I love my sisters. They encourage me, the pray and play with me. They do everything with me. My brothers. Fun and annoying. Dad. Without him where would I go for my spiritual troubles. And sport troubles. (;
My Mom. Oh my mom. No words can describe her. She sacrifices everything for her kids and husband. I cant even begin to tell you how wonderful she is. And I am not just saying that.
All of my family is special. All of my family knows how to make me laugh and make me feel special. I absolutely love my family. I can not do anything with out them.

Verse of the Week

Forgot about it yesterday. But that does'nt mean it's too late!
 Isaiah 40:29-31
"He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the week. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not faint."

By the way, these are all from a NIV Bible.

That is one of my favorite verses. During our adoption journey there was a song by Lincoln Brewster called Everlasting God. That song was on our adoption play list. It is based on that verse above. Kebroms middle name is Isaiah because that verse carried my Mom through the journey.

Here are some of the lyrics to Everlasting God

Strength will rise as we wait upon the Lord.
Wait upon the Lord we will wait upon the Lord.
                                                                                   *repeat*
                                                         Our God. You reign forever
                                                          Our hope. Our strong deliverer.

                                                          You are the everlasting God.
                                                          The everlasting God.
You do not faint you wont grow weary
Your the defender of the weak.
                                                         You comfort those in need.
You lift us up on wings like eagles.

That is the first part and the chorus. I think that it just repeats untill the bridge where one guy is singing the chorus and the other is singing the first verse. I absolutely love that song.

Hats

One of my good friends and I have started a business selling hats and scarves that we made. I decided that people would be more likely to buy if they saw them. So here are some pictures of the hats and scarves.
Both of the hats above fit anywhere from a kid to adult. They are $11.00
This is a medium size. It would fit a toddler really well. It is about $8.50
These are 2 of our baby hats. They are about $6.50
This is a scarf set for a young child. It comes with a matching hat.
This scarf is already sold, but we can make more like it. Scarves are about $15.00

Hope someone liked these. If you are interested, just let us know. Leave a comment or email me what you would like if you do.

Atsede had some crazy eyes that day. ;)
Climb climb climb!
Looking for pretty rocks. They scooped up handfulls from the stream and then spread them out on the log, then look for the rocks.
Geoffrey, the big brother.

The kids love it up in the mountains. We all do. Dear Heavenly Father, Thankyou for the wonderful world that we live in. Thankyou for blessing us with the beautiful mountains and streams to play in. Thankyou for the wonderful family that you have chosen to bless me with. You know exactly what I need and when I need it, and you provide it. Thankyou.

Verse of the Week

I just decided to do this. I know the week is almost over (Praise the Lord) but who knows what tomorrow will bring.

    Joshua 1:8-9
"Do not let this Book of the Law depart from your mouth. Instead, meditate on it day and night so you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful. Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified do not be discouraged for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go."

I wonder how many times God tells Joshua not to be terrified or discouraged for the Lord your God will be with you. Someday maybe I will go through and count.

Kebrom

It's official. Kebrom is all boy. He loves annoying his sisters by calling them naughty naughty, pulling the blankets off of his sisters when they are doing school work and waking up his sisters by walking into there room's and yelling "MOMMY CHAY WAKE UP!" What a crazy and cute little boy.

He is also super happy because he gets to wear his new jeans and play with the train book from Sharla

Pictures

Here are some pictures of the people and animals in my life.

Mom and Dad on the train at Silverwood

Brenna and JoyLynn on the train at Silverwood. JoyLynn was less than impressed.

Kebrom, Atsede and I on the train at Silverwoood. That train was lots of fun. Kebrom LOVED it!

Brenna, Atsede and Kebrom waiting for JoyLynn and I to get out of the wave pool and for Dad and Geoffrey to get off the water slide.

Brenna and I had a race for the chair. Brenna decided that there doesnt have to be a loser. Samson just wanted in the pic.

Books. So tired after hiking and playing in the water at Mill Creek

My life

Before I start with all the funny stories and all that, let me tell you about me. I am in a family of  6 children counting me. First there is my brother Geoffrey. He is 18 and can be lots of fun unless he is stressed or has a headache. Then Brenna. She is 14 and my best friend. She has her own dog, Books, who is really dumb. After her is me. I am 12. Then it is JoyLynn. She is 9 and full of life. She loves doing anything that anybody else is scared to do. After her is Atsede. Atsede is about 5. She is the absolute sweetest thing. But still a little annoying. But that is just a little sisters job. Last but not least is Kebrom who is about 2. I like to call him the little chipmunk. He loves cars and he is a little ham as my Dad says. Oh yeah, my Dad. He is the best dad in the WORLD. He loves sports, especially basketball. His favorite basketball team is the Washington Huskies. My Mom...what can I say. She is everything a kid in this big and crazy world could ask for. She does everything for me. She never is to busy to talk to me and is always willing to help me when I get stuck. I thank Jesus for giving me such a wonderful mother.

My Dad has 3 other siblings. 2 younger sisters and 1 younger brother. His brother, Uncle Mark, and his family live just around the corner from us. Which is also right across the street from Dad and Marks mom and dad. Better known to me as Nana and Papa. Nana is fun and has a great sense of humour and...well lets just stick with that. Papa is more of the quiet type. He is great to talk to and he loves tractors. He has a collection in his back yard. And every Thanksgiving we get a hay ride because he has a big hay wagon that he hooks up to his tractor and pulls us around the neighborhood. My personal favorite.

Serena and Sharla, Dad's sisters, both live in town. Serena is celebrating 2 years of married life well Sharla is celebrating whenever she gets time alone. Sharla has 3 girls and 2 boys. Her girls are Brennas age, my age and JoyLynns age. The boys are Atsedes age and Kebroms age. We all came in pairs.

I wont get into my Mom's family just yet.

If you think that thats crazy, wait untill you hear about the family parties at my Nana's house.

:D
